…who gathered to form a fraternity unique in its vision, for it aimed at principled brotherhood, fused with the scholarly pursuit of TRUTH, REASON and JUSTICE.
Originally striving for academic excellence, Alpha Sigma stood for “Advocates of Scholarship”. The nationalist movement of the 1960’s redefined the fraternity’s role to become one with the people’s struggles for change. Thus was born “Alay sa Sambayanan” - to serve the people - symbolizing the fraternity’s highest goal.
The Alpha Sigma Fraternity is a duly recognized organization in only 3 University of the Philippines Campuses:
Through nationalism, academic excellence, leadership and physical development, Alpha Sigmans have remained true to the highest goal laid down by our founding brothers - genuine humanitarian service.
“In all Endeavors, the Mark of Excellence.”
